For example, the PAS IV Passive Alcohol Sensor Flashlight and the PAS Vr. Passive Alcohol Screener & Verification System can readily “sniff” the air in enclosed spaces, over liquids/beverages, or any area where illegal “hootch” may be. These designs can detect alcohol levels as low as 15-20 parts per million (ppm) about the equivalent of 0.005 to 0.010% Breath Alcohol Level.
The PAS Sentry model is great for screening large numbers of persons in only a few seconds per person. This is a popular design used in “work release” programs or at entrances to work places, customs or border patrol entrys. This design allows for “hands-free” sampling, remotely or by direct testing of the person.
